# Extend Videos Longer with AI

> Use Artnex Video Extend to seamlessly lengthen any video clip with AI — add seconds to existing footage while preserving style and motion.

Video Extend takes an existing video clip and uses AI to generate a natural continuation, making it longer while preserving the original style, motion, and visual character. This is useful when a generated clip ends too soon, or when you want to add more time to footage before editing.

## Navigate to Video Extend

Go to **Tools > Video > Video Extend** in the Artnex sidebar.

## How to extend a video

  <Step title="Upload your video">
    In the prompt bar at the bottom of the page, click the video upload area (the dashed rectangle on the left) and select a video file from your device. Accepted formats include MP4, MOV, and WebM.

    <Note>
      The video uploader accepts any common video format. Once uploaded, a thumbnail preview appears in the upload area. Click the **×** button to remove it and start over.

  <Step title="Write a continuation prompt">
    In the text area, describe how the video should continue. Be specific about the action, camera movement, or any changes you want in the extended portion. For example: *"The character continues walking forward as the camera follows from behind."*

  <Step title="Choose a quality tier">
    Use the model selector in the control bar to choose between:

    * **Fast** — outputs at 720p or 1080p, faster processing
    * **Standard** — outputs at 480p or 720p, slower but available for different use cases

    <Tip>
      Fast is recommended for most workflows. Use Standard if you specifically need 480p output or encounter issues with Fast mode.

  <Step title="Set the resolution">
    Use the resolution dropdown to choose your output resolution. Available options depend on the selected quality tier:

    | ------------ | --------------------- | ------------- |
    | Fast — 720p  | 720p                  | 2,000 credits |
    | Fast — 1080p | 1080p                 | 2,000 credits |
    | Standard     | 480p, 720p            | 2,600 credits |

      The credit cost displayed in the interface reflects the selected model. The cost is shown in the control bar next to the **Extend** button before you confirm.

  <Step title="Adjust advanced settings (optional)">
    Click **Settings** to access additional controls:

    * **Duration** — set the length of the extension from 4 to 12 seconds (slider)
    * **Generate Audio** — enable AI-generated audio for the extended portion
    * **Camera Fixed** — lock the camera position to reduce unwanted movement
    * **Seed** — enter a seed value to reproduce the same result across multiple runs

  <Step title="Extend the video">
    Click **Extend** to start generation. Processing time varies based on the length and resolution you selected.

  <Step title="Download the extended video">
    When generation is complete, the extended video appears in your **My Creations** gallery. Click the **Download** icon to save it.

## Credit costs

| 720p (Fast)            | 2,000 credits          |
| 1080p (Fast)           | 2,000 credits          |
| Standard (480p / 720p) | 2,600 credits          |

  Credits are deducted only after a successful generation. If the extension fails, no credits are charged.
