The Image Upscaler enlarges your images to 2K, 4K, or 8K resolution using AI — without the blurry, pixelated results you get from traditional resizing. The model reconstructs fine detail so your image looks sharper at a larger size, not just stretched. Cost: 100 credits per image. Go to Tools > Image > Image Upscaler in the Artnex sidebar.

Upscale an image

1

Upload your image

Click Add Image in the bottom control bar to select a file, or drag and drop it onto the canvas. Your image must be under 10 MB.
2

Choose a target resolution

Use the resolution selector in the control bar to pick your output size:
OptionDescription
2KGood for web and digital use
4KRecommended for most use cases
8KMaximum quality for large-format print
The default is 4K.
3

Choose an output format

Select JPEG, PNG, or WebP from the format dropdown. Use PNG if you need lossless output; JPEG or WebP for smaller file sizes.
4

Click Upscale

Click Upscale ✦100 to start processing. A progress indicator appears while the model runs.
5

Download the result

When upscaling completes, the higher-resolution image appears in your Creations gallery. Hover over it and click the download icon to save.
The Image Upscaler uses a flat cost of 100 credits per image, regardless of which target resolution you choose.

Common use cases

Product photos

Enlarge product images taken on a phone or in lower-resolution conditions to meet e-commerce platform requirements (typically 2000×2000 px or larger) without reshooting.

Portraits and headshots

Recover detail in older or compressed portrait photos. The AI preserves skin texture and facial features rather than smoothing them out.

Artwork and illustrations

Upscale AI-generated images or scanned artwork to print-ready dimensions. Works well on both photorealistic images and illustrated styles.

Marketing and advertising

Bring archival or low-resolution brand assets up to the resolution required for large-format ads, banners, and signage.
Start with 4K. If you’re preparing for large-format print (posters, billboards) or want maximum detail for further editing, choose 8K instead.
Very small source images (under ~200×200 px) may not upscale cleanly, as the AI has less detail to work from. Start with the highest-quality source you have.
